“The perfect place for an intimate country wedding. We recently got married and had our wedding reception at Honey Meadow Retreat. Firstly Harriet and John are the most amazing people and from our first visit they immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. The cottage and grounds are simply beautiful. We didn’t want a traditional wedding reception and Harriet worked tirelessly to make our day really special. Harriet was also our private chef for our wedding weekend, she not only provided a hearty Devonshire breakfast before the wedding, but also provided a three course wedding breakfast (making allowances for various dietary requirements) and also made us an amazing BBQ hamper for the day after the wedding. Now to say the food was outstanding would be an understatement! The accomodation was great and very spacious for all our guests. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, but honestly Harriet was fantastic, nothing was a problem – even our odd requests like playing croquet on the lawn after our wedding breakfast. The wedding planning at Honey Meadow Retreat was so easy and such an enjoyable and personal experience. My husband and I had the best day of lives and every one of guests loved everything about the wedding. We absolutely loved Honey Meadow Retreat and we will be returning to this amazing place for mini-breaks for years to come. The hosts pulled out all the stops and went above and beyond to give us everything we asked for, and were full of ideas for what we could do. The food was beautifully prepared using local farmers and providers. Dietary requirements were all met without any problems. The reception by the oak tree was magic. Everything was perfectly organized and timed. The location was absolutely perfect, and being surrounded by its own holiday cottages and glamping meant many of our guests could stay on site. The most authentic, relaxed and fabulous wedding we could ever ask for.
When we got engaged, Rich and I thought we didn’t want a wedding with all the traditional trappings and pomp and ceremony. Instead, we wanted a relaxed, informal, fun and festival-y affair, which wasn’t too serious. We found Honey Meadow Retreat and met Harriet and knew this was the place for us. The location is fantastically rural, away from our real lives, and the setting is just stunning without being too grand. The cottages allowed us to accommodate those for whom camping was an ask too far, and the camping allowed us to have the festival feeling and relaxed atmosphere. On the day (or whole weekend),
Harriet was calm, helpful and made sure everything went smoothly. All guests were extremely complimentary about the wedding, and about how accommodating Harriet was. It turned out to be the most magical weekend of our lives and I would recommend the venue to any others who are looking for an outdoorsy, relaxed wedding or event. Thank you

Dear Harriet and John, thank you for the best wedding we could have ever hoped for. You went above and beyond for us and our guests and we couldn’t have been happier with our three days. Nothing was too much trouble for us and we loved how the venue looked. On the day you pulled out all the stops. From how the arbor was decorated to the barn set up. I had a vision for our tables and you created that and some for us. If you remember the rain did not stop however with all our contingencies it wasn’t an issue. Or should I say you don’t make an issue of anything.
Nothing is too much trouble. You have a welcoming and re assuring way about you both. You and your team worked so hard to make everything appear so easy. The best weekend of our lives!!!
I found honey meadow retreat back in February 2023. I feel in love with it the moment I set my eyes on it. After going back and forth for a while we set the date for the wedding may 2024! Harriet has been amazing from start to finish. Helped plan the PERFECT weekend! Not just a day. One thing I feel in love with, you had the whole place from Friday to Sunday. I got married 6 days ago and I honestly want to do the whole weekend again. Harriet and Jc are nothing but amazing! Always checking to make sure everything is ok. Always going the extra mile.
